Every Fall I make elderberry syrup when preparing for the winter months. As the days grow shorter and cooler weather arrives, we add elderberry syrup to our diet. Our elderberry syrup recipe is made with dried elderberries and sweetened with honey.

What you will need to make 3 ingredient Elderberry Syrup
- 1/2 cup Dried Elderberries
- 3 cups Filtered Water
- 1/2 cup Raw Honey (more for thicker syrup and it will keep better the more honey) *Remember do not give infants honey
- saucepan
- strainer
- spoon
Directions for making Elderberry Syrup with Honey
- In a saucepan combine 3 cups of filtered water and 1/2 cup dried elderberries, simmer for 45 minutes.
- Cool to room temperature
- Strain, discard elderberries
- Stir in honey
- Pour into a bottle or jar. One that is easy to pour into a tablespoon would work best. Label the date.
Store in the refrigerator
